The actor posted a gym video on Instagram as he prepares for the lead role in Prime Video’s video game adaptation.
Dave Bautista has shared a video on Instagram displaying his physical training to take over the role of Kratos in Prime Video’s TV adaptation of the video game God of War. Bautista is stepping into the lead role following an injury to previous lead Hurst, which required footage to be reshot alongside child actor Callum Vinson, who plays Kratos’ son, Atreus. In the video caption, Bautista stated he was in his third week of weight training and had two months remaining to reach his physical goal.
Production on the PlayStation-inspired series initially began in February and has already received a two-season order from Prime Video. The show follows Kratos and Atreus on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. The cast also includes Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok.
