The band is issuing a 40th-anniversary edition of ‘Somewhere in Time’ and a 10-LP box set covering their first nine albums.
As part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations, British heavy metal band Iron Maiden has announced two special vinyl releases arriving in December. The first is a 40th-anniversary reissue of their 1986 sixth studio album, Somewhere in Time, arriving on December 4. The release features the 2015 audio remastering on limited-edition oxblood-colored vinyl, with an Amazon-exclusive variant offering a full-sleeve poster.
The second release, launching on December 11, is the 10-LP box set 50th Anniversary Studio Album Collection, Part One: 1980-1992. Spanning the band’s first nine studio albums—from their 1980 self-titled debut through 1992’s Fear of the Dark—the set comes in a specially designed box with an anniversary poster and features each record on distinct colored vinyl. Outside the U.S., the box set will be sold exclusively through Amazon, while U.S. buyers will also have access to a non-Amazon retail version that excludes the poster.
