FLASHBACK: Prince Rocks the ‘SNL 40’ After-Party

Prince had the power to take an already legendary party and make it iconic.

In 2015, Saturday Night Live turned 40. Cast members past and present, musicians and other entertainment giants honored this landmark moment with an outstanding TV special followed by the after-party to end all after-parties.

Well into the after-party, Prince magically appears and takes to the stage to perform “Let’s Go Crazy,” which he playfully kicks off with the modified lyrics, “Dearly inebriated.”  On stage with him at various moments is Maya Rudolph, HAIM, Martin Short, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Rock, Cuba Gooding Jr., Emma Stone and Bill Murray, and it’s just one of those things you have to see to believe.

For added context to the above performance, check out the video below of Jimmy Fallon recapping the whole celebration on the following Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show. Fallon still seems hungover from the massive party that occurred from that weekend.
