Crowded House have announced that their 2022 European tour will include a date at England’s annual Hampton Court Palace Festival.
The tour, postponed from this year because of Covid restrictions, will begin on June 4 with the first of four nights at London’s Roundhouse. This date was added to the previous three due to popular demand. Following shows around the UK, the band will visit Belgium and Germany before returning for the Hampton Court Palace date on June 25. Crowded House then play in Ireland, Manchester and then complete the run in Barcelona and, on July 3, Madrid.
The 3,000-capacity show in Surrey, in the grounds of Henry VIII’s former home, will be part of a typically star-studded set of concerts in the 2022 Hampton Court Palace Festival. Lionel Richie will star there on June 8 and 9, and George Benson is booked for June 16, and more artists will be announced in due course. This year’s festival featured such names as Tom Jones, Van Morrison, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Keane, and Rick Astley.
Crowded House’s current recording and performing line-up sees Neil Finn and Nick Seymour joined by Mitchell Froom and Neil’s sons, Liam and Elroy Finn. They maintain a particularly loyal following in the UK, where the release last June of their seventh studio album Dreamers Are Waiting was greeted with a No.6 debut. It reached No.2 in both Australia and New Zealand and was a Top 20 record in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
Tckets for Crowded House’s Hampton Court show go on general sale on Friday (15) at 10am local time via the Hampton Court Palace Festival website.
The band’s Live From The Island performance in Auckland, New Zealand in March this year is currently available on demand, until November 15. More information and tickets are available at the nugs.tv site.
