James Blake and Labrinth have teamed up on a new track called “Pick Me Up,” which will be featured in Euphoria season two.

Labrinth has served as the show’s composer since it began in 2019 and has now chosen Blake as his partner in creating something new for its soundtrack.

“Pick Me Up” features minimal layers of piano and strings, as Blake sings over them, sometimes in falsetto. “When you think it’s love and you’re all caught up/Need to escape,” he sings. “Am I gonna get in the way of sweet relief?

Blake and Labrinth follow Lana Del Rey and Tove Lo in composing new material for the Euphoria season two official soundtrack. Del Rey contributed her new song “Watercolor Eyes,” while Tove Lo shared “How Long” as a part of the series.

Last year, Blake released his critically acclaimed album Friends That Break Your Heart – his first record in three years. It was lauded as “James Blake in his richest, rawest form” (NME); “His most beautiful work to date” (DIY); “an excellent showcase of Mr. Blake’s gifts” (The Wall Street Journal); and “a record full of mesmerizingly brilliant composition and some of the most accomplished songwriting of Blake’s career” (The i).

In November, the latest visuals for the album were shared in the video for “Famous Last Words.” The clip found Blake waking up in a hospital bed, removing his oxygen mask to sing the first verse. The camera then followed him on a surreal journey through the night before he found peace once again.

The Grammy-award-winning artist also shared news of a UK and European tour. The 11-show run will kick off in Glasgow at the O2 Academy on April 30, wrapping up with a final show at London’s Alexandra Palace on May 17.
