Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October expresses deep gratitude for ‘Foiled’ as the band prepares for its 20th anniversary tour.

Blue October is gearing up for a U.S. tour this October to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 2006 album, “Foiled.” They have also announced a second leg of the tour starting in January 2027. Lead singer Justin Furstenfeld shared his thoughts on the album, saying, “I’m more of a Cure guy or a Smiths guy.” He recalled the moment “Hate Me” became a hit, expressing disbelief at its success.

Furstenfeld admitted that he didn’t fully appreciate the success of “Foiled” back then, as he was struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. He reflected on that time, saying, “We were going through the depression right now, man. It’s so dark.” Now, two decades later and over ten years sober, he feels grateful for how far “Foiled” has brought the band.

“It’s gonna be a lot of fun to perform it with everybody out of that headspace,” he said. “These are the songs. They’ve stood the test of time, and we’re really proud to play them.”

Presales for the 2027 tour dates are currently happening, and tickets will be available to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. local time. For more details on dates and tickets, visit BlueOctober.com. Additionally, a vinyl reissue of “Foiled” will be released on May 29.
