U2 is back in action, filming a new music video in Mexico City. The band has been working on a new album for some time, and fans are eager for a sneak peek. On Tuesday, they shot a video for the song “Street of Dreams” while riding on top of a school bus, surrounded by excited fans.
The band shared a clip of their adventure on Instagram, captioning it, “Hopped a bus in Mexico City, destination: Street of Dreams.” They included a lyric from the song: “‘Justice an obsession, love is a procession down the street of dreams.'”
However, the shoot faced some challenges. A post on Instagram revealed that “thunder and rain crashed the generator for the film shoot,” forcing the band to seek shelter. A friendly neighbor welcomed them into their apartment for dinner and even let them step out onto the balcony.
While on the balcony, the crowd below began singing U2’s hit “Vertigo,” and Bono and the band joined in. They also played along as fans sang “Desire.”
This upcoming album will be U2’s first collection of new material since 2017’s “Songs of Experience.” Earlier this year, they released two EPs, “Days of Ash” and “Easter Lily,” in February and April, respectively. Fans can look forward to more music from U2 later this year.
