Spring is getting a fresh celebration in Philadelphia with the debut of the Northern Liberties Spring Festival. This all-day, all-ages event, presented by the Northern Liberties Business Improvement District and Sprouts Farmers Market, will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The festival is centered at 3rd and Poplar and spreads throughout Liberty Lands.
Designed as a neighborhood block party, the festival showcases the best of Northern Liberties, featuring live music, local food, creative makers, family activities, and community pride. Admission is free, and food, drinks, and shopping are pay-as-you-go. “Northern Liberties has always been a neighborhood that defies easy description,” said Sydney Rexroad, Executive Director of NLBID. “Spring Festival is our way of celebrating everything that makes us unique.”
The festival will have two stages with live performances covering rock, indie, soul, R&B, country, and alternative music. Ortlieb’s Hot Dog Hangout at 3rd and Poplar will host local bands, serve hot dogs outside, and offer a full bar inside. The day will culminate in a hot dog eating contest and a happy hour after-party with live music and comedy.
Families can enjoy the Liberty Lands Kids’ Zone, featuring music, storytelling, and hands-on activities. The Liberty Lands Stage will host kid-friendly performances, including yoga and a special presentation of Hansel and Gretel.
The festival will also highlight local small businesses, an artisan marketplace, and a variety of food vendors, from dumplings to craft beer. Art lovers can browse work from local artists, while the Community Wellness Village offers a relaxing space with refreshments. With its mix of music, food, and family fun, the Northern Liberties Spring Festival is set to be a must-attend event.
